Wheels for Winners is a Fun Place to Volunteer - Thanks RSVP of Dane County!

One of the most fun places to volunteer has to be Wheels for Winners, a Madison nonprofit whose mission is "... to provide bicycles to individuals experiencing challenges in their daily lives who perform community service." Longtime volunteer Neil Lerner and his colleague Jonny Hunter take a minute off for a few quick photos. One of the young volunteers, Issa, comes with her dad to help get the donated bikes ready. If you'd like to know more about this awesome volunteer opportunity, or any of the many others we match volunteers with all around Dane County, get in touch with Jan at jkarst@rsvpdane.org. ALL WHEELS VOLUNTEERS ARE BACKYARD HEROES!

Our dedicated volunteers make Wheels for Winners a great organization delivering over 400 bikes annually to other deserving community service volunteers!

A special thank you to Community Shares for their support and to Isthmus, 105.5 Triple M and Budget Signs for sponsoring the awards!

Each month Community Shares of Wisconsin presents the Backyard Hero Award to organizations and people making change happen in our community.

This month’s hero is Neil Lerner, a board member of Wheels for Winners, an organization that provides bicycles to individuals who perform community service, especially to youth and others who could not normally afford a bicycle. Neil’s efforts have helped greatly increase the community presence of Wheels for Winners. Thank you, Neil!

The Backyard Hero Awards are sponsored by Isthmus, 105.5 Triple M, and Budget Signs Specialties.
